Lubbock Business Inc. connects South Plains businesses

Lubbock Business Inc., a new business publication and online resource, is now available.

Published by A-J Media, the product is designed to create a South Plains business networking solution geared specifically toward area businesses. The publication, which will repeat again in December and then publish monthly in 2017, is much more than just a once-a-month-publication. The online resource found here: http://lubbockonline.com/business, is a way for community and business leaders to find business calendars, business profiles and business news all in one place.

CEOs, managers and business owners can learn from other business owners and managers in the South Plains region.

A-J Media Publisher Brandon Hughes said the A-J is pleased to contribute Lubbock Business Inc. for the business leaders behind Lubbock's growth.

"We are very excited about the launch of Lubbock Business Inc.," Hughes said. "Our goal is to become a valuable resource for businesses to network with others while providing content that CEOs, business owners, and managers find useful in their daily business. We have partnered with many great organizations throughout Lubbock and the South Plains and we look forward to being a partner in the business community for years to come."

Tim Collins, chairman of the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance board and owner of Collins Tile Company, said Lubbockites and West Texans, with their strong roots in agriculture, often are modest when it comes to sharing stories of their success in business.

"But there are lots of great stories to tell about Lubbock business, and this platform is a great opportunity," he said.

He said Lubbock's growing number of small business owners and executives are busy, but also interested in seeking out new ideas, and Lubbock Business Inc's offerings are an opportunity for them.

"I think there's a lot of interest in: A. best practices and B. how to be involved more in the community and take advantage of opportunities like joining the Chamber or other organizations and to form those mentorship opportunities."

Martin Aguirre, chief executive officer of Workforce Solutions South Plains, said Lubbock Business Inc. offers a lot of the industry-leader insights and insider-knowledge that small business owners and executives might try to absorb through university courses, seminars and networking events but don't have time for.

"There's not much easier way to do it than picking up a magazine like Lubbock Business Inc.," he said.

Unlike traditional business publications that focus on news and events, each issue of Lubbock Business Inc will feature insight, advice and strategy from local business leaders - content that Lubbock Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Eddie McBride said will be of value to all business leaders.

"This is a great opportunity for the 2,000 Lubbock Chamber of Commerce members that represent over 79,000 employees and $2 billion worth of economic impact to have a chance to partner with the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal on Lubbock Business Inc. Lubbock Business Inc is going to be a great business-to-business communication that is going to bring a whole new level of conversation to our community about the businesses that we both promote and serve in this community."

The business-to-business approach aims to foster reader engagement among business leaders seeking to drive growth and success in their own organizations. Advertising directly to CEOs takes the guess work out of marketing tactics and allows you to reach a new audience - business leaders with the buying power to purchase your products and services.

John Osborne, president and CEO of the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance, said he believes the publication will be an instrumental tool and guide for businesses both big and small.

"In an ever-changing economy, the LEDA Team understands the pressure and challenges business owners face on a daily basis," he said. "Lubbock Business Inc. will serve as an educational resource for local business owners to stay informed of important issues and trends that could impact their bottom line."

Among features in September's edition of Lubbock Business Inc. are:
