GARDEN TOUR: Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County will hold its annual “Rensselaer County Garden Tour” on Thursday, July 9, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This tour of thirteen gardens in and around the City of Rensselaer features two beautifully restored Victorian homes with views of the Hudson River, a Capital Roots Community Garden, the green roof at the Doane Stuart School and much more. Maps for the drive-it-yourself tour are $10.00 per person (maximum $30.00 per car) and can be purchased from 4 to 7 p.m.. the day of the tour in the parking lot of Rensselaer City Hall, 62 Washington Street, Rensselaer. YANKEE DOODLE BAND: Crailo State Historic Site, the museum of the colonial Dutch in the Hudson River Valley, and Friends of Fort Crailo present the Yankee Doodle Band on July 9 at 7 p.m. in Crailo’s riverside park, 9 1/2 Riverside Avenue, Rensselaer. INCLUSIVE OUTDOOR RECREATION: On Saturday, July, 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will host a family-friendly day of inclusive outdoor recreation activities at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center, 56 Game Farm Road, Delmar. Five Rivers was chosen for this 25th anniversary celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act because of the number of accessible elements available for people with various abilities. BUS TO INDIAN DAY PARADE: Join the International Center of the Capital Region on Sunday, August 16, 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. for the Indian Day Parade in NYC. Hosted by the Federation of Indian Associations, the parade is considered the largest such event in the World. The International Center will travel to Manhattan to watch the parade and take advantage of the Indian Food Court, merchandise booths and cultural performances. SONS OF SOUTHPAW NIGHT: The Tri-City ValleyCats are teaming up with Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region to host ‘Sons of SouthPaw:’ Bike Night.
