BETHLEHEM — Cantelmi Funeral Home of Fountain Hill purchased Long Funeral Home of Bethlehem in 2015 and now it is adding its name to the business.
Long Funeral Home, at 500 Linden St., will now be known as Cantelmi Long Funeral Home.
The name change was announced Wednesday by Dino P. Cantelmi Jr., principal of Cantelmi Funeral Homes.
“It is with great privilege and honor that we announce the uniting of two outstanding names in the local funeral home services, dedicated to serving families and the community for more than a century combined,” Cantelmi said.
Cantelmi said he considered changing the Long Funeral Home name to Cantelmi Funeral Home, but decided to combine the names in order to honor both families’ legacies in the community.
Michael Long, 58, son of the late Wallace (Wally) Long, will continue to serve as supervisor at the renamed Bethlehem location.
