The mother of Manchester attack victim Martyn Hett has had a bee tattooed to her arm in tribute to her son.

Figen Murray's forearm was pictured, still pink from the needle, with a tattoo showing a bee with a heart on its body and the caption: “#BEMOREMARTYN”.

Dan Hett, Martyn’s brother, posted the image to Twitter alongside the message: “My mum does not **** about. #bemoremartyn indeed.”

Ms Murray, a mental health counsellor, told the Standard: "I hate tattoos, but I am from now on definitely going to be more Martyn."

Martyn Hett was killed along with 21 others when suicide bomber Salman Abedi detonated explosives at an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena on May 22.

Mr Hett’s family has paid tribute to the 29-year-old PR manager, a self-described Coronation Street superfan who had a tattoo of Deirdre Barlow on his leg.

The 29-year-old has given inspiration to family and friends, they said

He had appeared in several TV shows including Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me and E4’s Tattoo Fixers, and developed a large social media presence including more than 13,000 Twitter followers and videos on Youtube with more than half a million views.

Family and friends held a vigil in his memory on May 28 as mourners described on social media how the 29-year-old touched their lives alongside the hashtag "bemoremartyn".

"What a great turnout & fitting vigil for a young man who seemed to touch so many peoples hearts," wrote one.

News of Ms Murray's tattoo came after claims emerged that singer Ariana Grande got inked with a worker bee backstage at the One Love benefit concert on Sunday evening.

The worker bee is a symbol of the city of Manchester because of the town’s industrial past.

The Sun reported that Grande and her crew were inked with bee tattoos backstage on Sunday night at the One Love benefit concert, organised to raise money for victims and families of the blast.
