Kendrick Lamar arrives at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (dated April 22) with “Humble.,’ earning his first ever chart-topper on the tally, and 45th career chart hit. The track, from Lamar’s forthcoming album due out April 14, concurrently becomes his first No. 1 on Hot Rap Songs and debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Hefty streams steer the track’s chart-topping entrance on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, with 66 percent of its points stemming from 49.8 million U.S. streams in the tracking week ending April 6, according to Nielsen Music. Of its total, 15.6 million come from YouTube, where a music video was released on March 31. The chart entry is also greatly aided by 111,000 song downloads — which earns Lamar his first No. 1 debut on the Digital Song Sales chart.

“Humble.” marks just the fourth song to debut at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs since October 2012, when the chart transitioned from an almost-all-airplay-based methodology to one blending airplay, sales and streaming. Two tracks in 2016 achieved the feat just one week apart; most recently, Drake started at No. 1 with “Summer Sixteen” (Feb. 20, 2016 chart), while Rihanna’s “Work,” featuring Drake, launched at No. 1 the prior week (Feb. 13). Eminem was the first act to score a crowning arrival under the chart’s current formula, with “The Monster,” featuring Rihanna (Nov. 16, 2013).

At radio, Lamar’s new single scores a No. 25 Hot Shot Debut on both the Rhythmic Songs and Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay charts. Over on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, which combines mainstream R&B/hip-hop and adult R&B formatted-stations, “Humble.” flies 48-26, climbing 170 percent to 8.4 million audience impressions (in the week ending April 9), after its first full tracking week.
