Ok, ok let’s get this out of the way. Yes, this is in fact an article on Live For Live Music premiering a cover of a Justin Bieber song. But take our word for it–this is one of the best things you’ll hear all day, haters be damned. Brooklyn vocalist Olivia Castriota and her talented band (guitarist Stefano Di Blasio, bassist Will Kencel, and percussionist Sebastian Chiriboga) have taken Bieber’s ubiquitous summer 2016 mega-hit single and turned it into a sultry R&B vamp we simply can’t stop listening to. That’s why we’re excited to premiere Castriota’s brand new video for her re-tooled “Sorry” cover. Give it a spin, you won’t be sorry that you did:

Says Castriota of her reimagined Justin Bieber cover, “Taking a song and completely flipping it inside out to give it a new feel while still making it recognizable is what we do best! As a band, we really gravitated to this style. Even though you’ve probably heard the original a million times, it’s like we reversed the engine and took the song in a new direction of unknown territory while still giving it that slightly familiar feel.” The video was filmed at Replay Studio by Joe Tamayo, and mixed by Seth Richardson.

Olivia Castriota is a NYC-based recording artist whose 2015 debut album All At Once peaked at #2 on the iTunes US New Album Release charts. Olivia has had the privilege of singing at the world famous Apollo Theater on five different occasions, opened for ‘The God Mother of R&B’ Lil’ Mo, The Shades, Lili K, Milo Greene, and RANN, performed with Grammy-nominated artist Marky Ramone (Ramones) and American Idol‘s Hollywood Anderson, and worked with songwriter Vlado Kolenics, who has seven #1 hit singles to his name.
