The 2018 BMW i8 is recently reported to be getting a significant power boost. This is good news to those who have been closely monitoring the developments on this upcoming BMW supercar.

The 2018 BMW i8 is expected to be more powerful, which can produce up to 420-horsepower. This is way better compared to the current system, which only produces a maximum of 357-horsepower. Rumors are circulating stating that the upgraded hybrid powertrain consists of a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and an electric motor.

The upcoming BMW has better acceleration compared to its predecessor. The predecessor can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.2-seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. These figures are expected to significantly increase upon official release of the 2018 BMW i8.

The upcoming i8 has various chassis mods and higher battery capacity. This is to address the shortcomings of the current i8. The chassis mode shows the inclusion of lowered suspension and updated brakes. BMW has also confirmed that there is an i8 Convertible underway. Its arrival may be the same time as the update.

The current BMW i8 has not been impressive for some industry experts and car enthusiasts. It has been reviewed for not having enough power. Its look doesn't suffice as its power and overall performance fall flat especially when battling it out with its competitors.

Thanks to the 2018 BMW i8, these issues and more are tackled head on. BMW has done significant improvements to make the upcoming i8 worthy of everyone's attention.

The new i3 receives a 50 percent boost in range so it is expected that the same will be the case for the 2018 BMW i8. Its revised battery pack should do the trick. It receives various chassis modifications such as modified upper wishbones and mounting points.

The updated wishbone and mounting points of 2018 BMW i8 come together with revised spring and dampers. It is also 15mm lower. The updated i8 is expected before the end of this year.
