CHAMBERSBURG - The Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce will host the Chambersburg Business and Industry Expo, from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 20 at Penn State Mont Alto.

"The event will give local businesses a chance to show off their services to the community and also interact with other businesses," said Doug Harmon, membership director of the Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce.

This marks the fourth year the business community has supported the expo, but after past success with businesses building relationships at the event, the Chamber of Commerce has decided to increase the size.

"We felt that partnering with (Penn State) Mont Alto gives the event a little more clout," Harmon said.

Due to the event being hosted at a Penn State school, Harmon said it will be a tailgate-themed event.

"This year's event will be a fun one and we will also being giving out three prizes for those who decorate their exhibits with a tailgate theme," Harmon said.

Additionally, those who attend can get a picture with the Nittany Lion, participate in the Alumni Chapter's photo booth and play cornhole. In addition, a grand prize of two football tickets to the Nov. 5 Penn State vs. Iowa game will be awarded via random drawing.

Not only is the expo designed to attract businesses, but the chamber is hoping to attract more students from the area who are interested in business opportunities.

"Students are greatly encouraged to attend (to) talk about job opportunities or internships," Harmon said.

Registration is open until Oct. 10. Businesses that are interested should visit chambersburg.org/events. For more information, contact Harmon at 717-264-7101 ext. 202 or email dharmon@chambersburg.org.
