Andre Drummond, Detroit Pistons do yoga on beach, meet Rocky

Detroit Free Press
Okay, so this is actually a scene from "Rocky Balboa," but it features Sylvester Stallone, right, reprising his famous boxing star from the classic "Rocky."

It has been an eventful off-season for Andre Drummond and the Pistons.

The team signed three role-playing free agents in point guard Ish Smith, forward Jon Leuer and center Boban Marjanovic, and re-signed Drummond to a nearly $130-million deal to make him the highest-paid player in franchise history.

After being swept by the eventual NBA-champion Cavaliers in the first round, the team seems to be working hard to improve and bond this summer. They could do worse than yoga on the beach.

Drummond recently posted pictures of himself, Marcus Morris and other players working on their “poses,” as well as carrying each other over the shoulder across grass, and doing pushups together as a human centipede, with legs on the person’s shoulders behind them.

Actor Sylvester Stallone, who famously plays Rocky in the movie series as a struggling boxer whose unmatched determination helps lifts him to boxing glory, posted a picture on his Instagram account with Drummond and Marjanovic sandwiching the actor, who is more than a full head shorter than the 7-foot-3 Marjanovic and the 6-11 Drummond.

“A couple of very tiny Detroit piston players that I met,” wrote Stallone. “Confidentially, I believe I have the reach them..#DetroitPistons”
