Technology State accepting applications for tech grants

Up to $500,000 will be awarded to companies, federal labs and research universities working to commercialize new technologies, under the state’s Advanced Industries Accelerator program.

The grants are designed to help projects that will create infrastructure with industry-wide impact and are given to undertakings that are collaborative in nature.

The state defines advanced industries as aerospace, advanced manufacturing, bioscience, electronics, energy and natural resources, infrastructure engineering and technology and information.

Applications are due April 22, 2016 and can be submitted at advancecolorado.com/aiprograms.

Boulder’s Sphero honoring local women in tech

Boulder-based Sphero is recognizing female leaders in the tech industry with an online and social series featuring five women from across the country, including three local executives.

Nicole Glaros, chief product officer at Techstars; Claire Tindall, senior director of marketing and communications at Sphero; and Ruthe Farmer, chief strategy and growth officer at the National Center of Women in Tech will be profiled in the weekly photo and video features, beginning Tuesday — International Women’s Day.
