The Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County dedicated its 217th home to Judy Marte and her family Saturday morning.

Three generations of women live in Marte's home, including her mother, Margarita and her 10-year-old daughter, Emily.

Marte, who works for both Lowe's and the Palm Beach County School District, is excited to be able to have her own home and the opportunity to provide her family with a more stable future.

"I can't wait to make new memories with my daughter and mom in our new home," she said.

The home at 1090 17th St. is part of Habitat for Humanity's 10th annual National Women Build and is the fifth home the program has built in Palm Beach County.

The National Women Build, which was developed in cooperation with Lowe's, encourages women all over the country to devote at least one day to help build decent and affordable housing in their communities.

"We are proud of Judy and all the work she and her family have done to earn this home," said Amy Brand, the chief development officer for the Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County. "We are also proud to take part in a program that is powered by women, funded by women and empowers women. Participating groups who built this home represent Palm Beach County schools, corporations, civic groups and private groups of families and friends all coming together for one cause."

Lowe's donated nearly $2 million to this year's National Women Build, including a $5,000 store gift card to Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County. Since 2003, Lowe's has committed more than $63 million to Habitat's mission and helped more than 6,500 families improve their living conditions. Since Habitat's first Women Build event in 1998, all-women construction crews have helped build more than 2,500 homes.
