Easter is now behind us but we don't have too long to wait until the next bank holiday.
It's a great time for an early summer getaway, catching up with friends and family or of course doing a bit of DIY.
The early May bank holiday, also known as May Day, is on Monday, May 1.
Then at the end of the month we'll have spring bank holiday on Monday, May 29.
If you're lucky enough to be off, that means there are only three Mondays you'll have to work in May.
Your employer doesn’t have to give you paid leave on bank or public holidays. They can choose to include bank holidays as part of a worker’s statutory annual leave. Almost all workers are legally entitled to 5.6 weeks’ paid holiday per year (known as statutory leave entitlement or annual leave). The website gov.uk explains that an employer can include bank holidays as part of statutory annual leave.
