To the award winning musician, lyrics are hurriedly composed without musicians paying attention to the requirement of getting the message of God across.

“To be honest, I am not enthused by the messages in the songs of our current crop of gospel musicians. It seems most of them are in a hurry to make hits and get some money in their pockets forgetting the message which is the word” she told Showbiz in an interview recently.

According to the former president of the Musician Union of Ghana, MUSIGA, gospel musicians have a powerful tool(their music) to change lives of many people but that is not the case lately among new gospel musicains since most of them are only concerned with making money.

She explained that, the money will surely come but if that takes the topmost priority, it will force gospel musicians to try to emulate secular artistes.

She added that during her time musicians like Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Tagoe Sisters, Mary Ghansah delievered very powerful messages through their music. “ that is not the case lately,’ she added.

She was however quick to admit  that there are still some very good gospel musicians who are doing marvelously well.

“  All is not lost because I believe there are a good number of gospel musicians who are doing great. I believe Ghanaian gospel has a bright future with the likes of Ohemaa Mercy, Nii Okai, Eugene Zuta and Joe Mettle.” she added.

Asked what it is she has been up to since it seems she has been missing in action for some time now, the Winner hitmaker said she has been busy in her own way trying to help up and coming musicians who want to go into mainstream music.

According to her, she is still does administrative work at MUSIGA and counsels people as well.

About her music, Diana Hopeson who will be celebrating 25 years in the music industry next year is out with s new song Aseda which features Okyame Kwame .

Aseda which was released last week on  Accra FM will be on her 10th album next year and according to her, she is back in the music business like never before.

Asked if she would be able to cope with the current crop of gospel musicians, Diana Hopeson who is known for songs such as He Is Lord, My Body, Onyame Ye Ɔdonfo and  Agyenkwahene said she is talented and can still rock the stage even at her age.
