30-year-old Nickolas Anthony Jonathan Goebel was arraigned today on four felonies in 95B District Court in Iron County in regard to an incident that happened March 17 in Iron River.  
 
According to court documents, Goebel is charged in connection to a Criminal Sexual Conduct incident that involved holding a woman against her will; resisting, assaulting and obstructing a police officer and interfering with telephone communication. 
 
He is due back in court April 3.  The charges against Goebel are detailed below:
 
Count 1: Unlawful Imprisonment Did knowingly restrain Jane Doe to facilitate the commission of Criminal Sexual Conduct, a felony; contrary to MCL 750.349b. [750.349B] 
SORA NOTICE – This is a Tier I offense under the Sex Offender Registration Act (SORA), if the victim is a minor. It is a Tier II offense if the defendant has a prior conviction for a Tier I offense. MCL 28.722(s) & (t). It is a Tier III offense if the  defendant has a prior conviction for a Tier !! offense. FELONY: 15 years and/or $20,000.00
 
Count 2: Criminal Sexual Conduct- Second Degree (Multiple Variables)  Did engage in sexual contact with Jane Doe, under the following circumstance(s), during the commission of the felony of UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT; contrary to MCL 750.520c. [750.520C]
SORA NOTICE  – This is a Tier II Offender the Sex Offender Registration Act (SORA) if the victim is 13 or older. MCL 28.722(u)(ix)&(x). Is a Tier III Offense if the victim is under 13. MCL 28.722(w)(v). It is a Tier III Offense if the defendant has a prior conviction for a Tier II Offense. MCL 28.711(u) & (v)
HIV/STD TESTING NOTICE – Take notice that pursuant to MCL 333.5129, upon bindover to circuit court or recorder’s court, the district court judge shall order the defendant to be tested for venereal disease, hepatitis B infection, and for the presence of HIV or an antibody to HIV if the judge determines there is reason to believe the violation involved sexual penetration or exposure to a body fluid of the defendant. If the district judge determines that testing is not required, upon conviction, the court must order the defendant to be tested.
FELONY: 15 years; mandatory AIDS/STD testing; DNA to be taken upon arrest.
 
Count 3: Police Officer- Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing  Did assault, batter, wound, resist, obstruct, oppose, or endanger TROOPER WEESNER AND/OR OFC GRABOWSKI, a police officer of MICHIGAN STATE POLICE AND/OR IRON RIVER POLICE DEPARTMENT that the defendant knew or had reason to know was performing his or her duties; contrary to MCL 750.81d(1). [750.81D1]
FELONY: 2 years and/or $2,000.00. A consecutive sentence may be imposed under MCL 750.506a if the assault was committed in a place of confinement , or under MCL 750.81d(6) for another violation arising from the same transaction
 
Count 4: Interfering With Electronic Communications  Did willfully and maliciously prevent, obstruct, or delay by any means the sending, conveyance, or delivery of an authorized communication, by or through a telephone or telephone line; contrary to MCL 750.540(5)(a).

FELONY: 2 years and/or $1,000.00
